Our Brand

Kendamil is the only British Infant Formula producer.

Our range of infant formulas are made using full cream milk sourced locally from farms based in Cumbria and Lancashire.

Since 1962, our factory; a state of the art manufacturing plant, has manufactured high quality infant food products for Farleys, GSK, Boots and Heinz before becoming Kendal Nutricare in 2015.

We have an experienced team, some with over 20 year’s industry experience. A highly qualified group of engineers, technicians, laboratory microbiologists and research scientists operate the factory to a world class standard.

Prebiotics

Prebiotics (GOS), promote the growth of good bacteria and play a significant role in regulating your baby’s immune system, inhibiting the growth of pathogens (disease causing bacteria) and digesting food. Galactooligosaccharides (GOS) are the most advanced form of prebiotics.

Baby's Journey

You will find a Kendamil Milk for each stage of your baby’s development;

Stage 1 – From Birth to 6 Months
Stage 2 – From 6 Months to 12 Months
Stage 3 – From 12 Months to 36 Months

Once your infant is ready to be weaned onto solid food we offer a range of Kendamil Cereals. Just like our milks, our cereals are nutritionally balanced with essential vitamins and minerals, made from great tasting, wholesome grains and fruit. Helping to support your baby’s growth and development.

Mammal Milk Fat

We have put decades of research into every ingredient in our infant formula to support your baby’s growth and development from birth to weaning to toddlerhood. We formulate with full cream milk sourced from farms in the Lake District, matching the protein percentages found in human breast milk of 60% whey to 40% casein combined with the essential vitamins and minerals your baby needs before drying it to a powder.

Provenance

Our range of infant formulas are made using full cream nutrients from whole milk sourced locally from farms based in Cumbria and Lancashire.

Cumbria has the second largest milk pool in the UK. Our factory is ideally situated to get the freshest milk produced by cows fed on grass from the finest pastures, surrounded by clear running rivers and temperate clean air.

Traceable

We want to create a better way to eat where everyone has access to nutritious food of a high quality that has a traceability so you are connected to the people that make it.  Our milk is sourced in Cumbria and Lancashire from 220 Red Tractor certified farms.

Every stage of our process is closely monitored, we start by using “Red Tractor Approved” Farms, our dairy partner pasteurises the milk, our factory tests all raw materials prior to processing, during production and after packing and we document all batches. Providing families with a safe and nutritious formula.

Sustainable

We strongly believe we are doing the right thing – for parents and for our environment. We no longer use Palm Oil in our Infant & Formulas and we are working hard to replace it in our infant cereals. Cheap and relatively easy to grow, the cultivation of Palm Oil has a global impact. Palm Oil destroys rain-forests, drains carbon rich peat-land and violates human rights of workers and local communities. Setting aside the ecological effects consider the direct impact Palm Oil can have on your child’s health. Palm Oil has a different triglyceride structure to mammal’s milk fat, palm oils & palm fat can bind with calcium, causing soapiness in infant stomachs, constipation and reduced uptake of calcium. – Ref: Abbott Study 2002.

We have also taken action to protect the world’s fish stocks, rather than using Fish Oil to introduce Omega 3 we use Pure Marine Algae, a natural vegetarian source of Omega 3.

Ethics

We are committed ethically in producing the most nutritious and wholesome Infant, Follow-On and Toddler formulas possible. We are working to create a more traceable formula made with sustainable ingredients with recyclable packaging.

British

All of our products are proudly manufactured in Cumbria. We are the only British Infant Formula Manufacturer. We seek to use only the best, locally sourced British ingredients in our products. The wet weather combined with the temperature is ideal for pasture grazed dairy herds.
