Board of Trade Award

What are the Board of Trade Awards?

The Board of Trade Awards (BOFTAs) recognise businesses who have made an outstanding contribution to international trade within their region. UK Board of Trade Awards celebrate businesses which show exceptional innovation, deliver prosperity to their local communities, and champion free trade. They are presented by the Secretary of State for International Trade during visits around the UK.

Kendal Nutricare

Kendal Nutricare, the parent company of Kendamil, was awarded the Board of Trade Award in May 2019. The Award was presented by Secretary of State Dr Liam Fox at Durham Castle, recognising the business as a Northern Powerhouse Champion.

At the time of receiving the award, Dr Liam Fox said, “The Export Champion Community is an important initiative and its members will play a vital role in creating the culture of exporting that my international economic department is building in Britain. By raising the profile of exporters in this way, we will help to normalise exporting across the country, expanding horizons, removing barriers to market access and facilitating expansion here in the UK. Supported by a community of the UK’s leading exporters, I am confident that our businesses will continue to grow their exports in the months and years ahead.”

Commenting on the Board of Trade Award winners, Paul Stowers, Head of Regions, North West at DIT, said: “To see two businesses from Cumbria recognised for their exporting successes is extremely rewarding. Their success is testament to the high levels of overseas demand for the British brand, as well as the hard work both companies have put into securing such lucrative deals.

Receiving such a prestigious award is regarded as one of the highest honours a company can receive in the UK. The logo depicts the British Monarchy and can be used by a business for example on their website, promotional material and packaging.

As a Kendamil customer, you will see the logo proudly stamped on all tins of formula!
